It’s the story of a young black man who is trying to find his identity as a black man in this complex world. Through many adventures, he is going to figure that most of the things he has been taught about how to be a « man » is not that easy. Indeed, it is something he has to figure out by himself. well, being a black man is not easier.
This serie is about « creating alternatives » for young black males. You are not meant to be a rapper, an athlete, a business man or a multi-billionaire playboy. You can be none of that or all of that. It’s all adding nuances to the realities that are already out there and creating new ones.
The stereotypes are a reality and we will try to depict them as well. This serie is questioning those realities without being judgemental. The viewers are the judges. At the end of the day, we are not here to state what is good from the bad and vice versa.
The perspective is from a young black man and his environnement but that does not mean we will always take his side in his own story. He will understand by himself with the help of his friends and love ones when where and how he will get it wrong. This way, he will, as well, question his own environnement.
Therefore, we are trying to be as authentic as we can be. That is why everything that screened will be, substantially, real stories from testimonies, interviews and focus group.
