after spending time taking pictures, I started taking videos about the same thing that I was seeing whole the time. Sun, shopping, sky, nature, partner. I wanted to create a narrative around what I was seeing because I felt that I had to keep going forward despite the conditions we were forced to live in to protect our own lives and people's lives.
Working during this time, was quite hard. Firstly because, I live in a small room so having a space where I would just work and be focused fully was not there. I felt like life was just becoming a loop I felt hard to get out from.
Until I decided to make that loop, maybe the beginning of my prologue for this project. That is why it became the man on the bike. Inspired mostly by the last black man in San Francisco I wanted to make a simple man connected with an object that would mean the world - or how he would actually see the world through.
So most of the experimentation started with me trying to capture him on his bike. I first started to focus on his feelings - and the relationship with he bike. But my focus shifted.
I focused on the relationship that he had with the world (mostly because that the conclusion I came up with re-watching my main inspiration) through the bike. What he could see, what he would interpret from that - the stability that he does not have but he can see through monuments for example.
Then in order to have more stability, I bought a selfie stick, a gimbal. Unfortunately I can't post any of the videos or test on here because of course they exceed the limit in terms of GB.
A shame but I'll put the link of my test with final results that I will explain in further notes journal
