Post production 2: editing sound

I think this was the worst part of the whole post production process. I got to realise that the sound engineer was actually not good and the sound that he took during the takes had a lot of ambient noise.

it made question relying on people because I don’t usually work with strangers but at the same time it is my fault for choosing him so I don’t blame him.

the thing is a lot of scenes were happening outside so at first I was not surprised but when I started listening to the audio of inside he didn’t even record the whole thing properly.
Sometimes, he would record on one channel (right or left) and not even both. I was so baffled.

i took this opportunity to get new skills in premiere pro once again and Adobe audition with compressor, EQ, reverb and technicals stuff around the sound. EQ would come to suppress the unecessary deep sound and high sound that were not coming from the voice. However the trick was not to push a lot as it would make the voice “metallic”
compressor would give a boost and also equalise the sound around a certain variable.
