Production 3: facing technical difficulties

the first technical difficulty was linked to the choice of locations. Indeed, I had chosen outdoors locations, and maybe it was a mistake...
when I look at it, I’m a quite pleased and during production I was also pleased . But the sound engineer on the set was struggling to catch a take with little noise. When it comes to room tone,it was okay. However, for outside I think a better mic would have been better.

the natural lighting was also a difficulty. The DOP and I expected it of course but still. When you are shooting a whole 3 minutes dialogue between 2 actors with 1 camera and 1 mic it takes time... so the sun has time to move as well.. but we didn’t give up. He changes his exposition when it was needed so that the footage won’t be too ugly with the change of natural lighting.

I’m happy we didn’t have some battery issues or break during the production.
the DOP was quite prepared. For example, for his RONIN he had at least 5 batteries. I was happy that I didn’t have to think about the technical complexities too much.

my focus was more on the frame, and actors.
